This magnificent pair of William IV salt cellars were made in London in 1833 and were crafted by Paul Storr, Britain's most celebrated silversmith of the 19th century. Each salt cellar is supported by three finely modelled paw feet and embellished with exquisitely cast lion's heads, one of Paul Storr's most distinctive and admired decorative motifs. The quality of the casting and chasing is outstanding, reflecting the unrivalled craftsmanship for which Storr is renowned.

Remarkably, the pair has survived in superb original condition, with every detail remaining crisp and sharp. The interiors retain their original gilding making them practical to use.
