The arms are those of Knightley impaling Dummer for Valentine Knightley (1 May 1718 – 2 May 1754), the son of Lucy Knightley by his wife, Jane Grey, daughter of Henry Benson. He was married on 21 December 1740 to Elizabeth (d. 11 August 1760), daughter of Edward Dummer. Knightley was M.P. For Northampton from 1748 until his death. His elder son, John (17 February 1746 – 29 January 1812) was married on 15 April 1779 to Mary (d. 21 October 1830), daughter of John Baines, and on 2 February 1798 was created 1st Baronet Knightley of Fawsley Park, Northamptonshire.
